  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a freezer-safe container with parchment paper between layers.
