Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Mix in the flour, cocoa, and salt until just combined.
  4. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
Cheesecake Layer
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the whipped cream until combined.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled brownie base.
  4. Drizzle with hot fudge sauce.
Chill and Serve
  1. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  2. Top with cherries and nuts before serving.

Notes

Make sure your cream cheese is softened before mixing to avoid lumps. Let the brownie base cool completely before adding the cream cheese layer to keep it from melting. For a richer flavor, consider adding chocolate chips to the brownie mixture. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator or freeze for longer storage.
