Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 12 pieces fresh chicken wing drumettes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or lemon pepper seasoning for variation
For the honey sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1/4 cup honey can be substituted with maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce adjust to taste for spice preference

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat an air fryer to 360 degrees F (182 degrees C).
  2. Place the chicken wings in a bowl and sprinkle with salt and garlic powder, tossing to coat the wings evenly.
Cooking
  1. Place the wings in the air fryer basket. Set the timer for 25 minutes and cook the wings, shaking the basket every 7 to 8 minutes for even cooking.
  2. Once the timer ends, turn off the air fryer and let the wings sit in the basket for another 5 minutes.
Making the sauce
  1. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk the honey, rice vinegar, and sriracha sauce into the butter and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer the sauce over medium-low heat for 8 to 10 minutes, whisking occasionally.
  4. Turn off the heat; the sauce will thicken as it cools.
Serving
  1. Toss the cooked wings with the sauce in a bowl. Reserve some extra sauce to serve alongside the wings for dipping.

Notes

To store leftover wings, place them in an airtight container. They can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, put them back in the air fryer for a few minutes until heated through.
