Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add oil and warm water. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and soft.
- Cover and let the dough rest for 20–30 minutes.
- Divide into 8 equal balls.
- Roll each ball into a thin round circle.
Cooking
- Heat a pan on medium heat. Cook each tortilla for 30–40 seconds on one side until bubbles appear.
- Flip and cook the other side. Do not overcook. Keep them soft and stack under a clean towel.
Notes
Tips for making perfect tortillas include using warm water and kneading the dough until smooth and elastic. Do not roll the tortillas too thick for better cooking.
