Ingredients

Coffee Base
  • 3 ounces espresso (2 shots) or ½ cup strong coffee
Milk
  • 6 ounces whole milk or milk of choice
Chocolate
  • 2 Tablespoons chocolate syrup or chopped unsweetened chocolate or mini chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. Brew your espresso or strong coffee according to your preference.
  2. Pour the milk into a mason jar. If you are using chocolate syrup, add it at this time as well.
  3. Microwave the jar for about 1 ½ minutes, heating in additional 30-second increments until hot but not boiling.
  4. Carefully remove the jar from the microwave, using a towel or potholder.
  5. If using mini chocolate chips or chopped chocolate, add them now, then put the lid on the jar and shake vigorously for 30 seconds to 1 minute to create froth.
  6. After shaking, carefully remove the lid from the jar, watching for any pressure.
Serving
  1. Drizzle chocolate syrup into your mug. Pour in the espresso, then add the milk, topping it with any foam left in the jar.
  2. Serve immediately with whipped cream and extra chocolate drizzle if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, use whole milk or any preferred milk alternative. To enhance flavor, consider adding flavored syrup or cinnamon. If you don’t have a mason jar, a blender can be used to froth the milk. It's best enjoyed immediately, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Reheat gently before serving.
