Ingredients
  

Eggnog Base
  • 4 large large eggs Use fresh eggs for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup Adjust to taste for sweetness.
  • 1 1/2 cups milk Dairy or dairy-free milk can be used.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Coconut cream can be used as a dairy-free option.
  • 1/3 cup brandy Can be substituted with bourbon.
  • 1/3 cup rum Omit for a non-alcoholic version.
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg Freshly grated nutmeg is recommended.
  • Ground cinnamon Use cinnamon sticks for garnish if desired.

Preparation
  1. Add the eggs and maple syrup to a high-powered blender and blend for exactly 4 minutes on high speed.
  2. Add the milk, heavy cream, brandy, rum, and nutmeg. Blend for an additional 10 seconds just to combine.
  3. Pour the eggnog into an airtight container and refrigerate until it is chilled.
  4. When ready to serve, give the eggnog a stir before pouring. Garnish with cinnamon sticks or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

Notes

Store any leftover homemade eggnog in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir before serving as ingredients may settle. For different flavors, consider adding cloves, allspice, or vanilla extract.
