  • 1 box brownie mix (18 oz) or homemade brownies Check box for additional ingredients (eggs, oil, water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon espresso powder Optional for added flavor
For the cheesecake layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar Granulated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor enhancement
For serving
  • Hot fudge Warmed up for drizzling
  • Whipped cream, nuts, or a cherry Optional toppings

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven according to brownie mix instructions.
  2. Prepare brownie batter according to the box or your homemade recipe.
  3. Stir in the optional espresso powder if using.
  4. Pour the brownie batter into a greased baking pan and bake according to package instructions.
  5. Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely.
  6. Prepare the cheesecake layer by mixing the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Spread the cheesecake batter over the cooled brownies.
  8. Bake again until the cheesecake sets.
  9. Allow to cool completely, then chill in the refrigerator.
Serving
  1. Cut the cheesecake into squares. Place a piece on a plate and warm up hot fudge in the microwave.
  2. Drizzle the hot fudge generously over each piece. Add toppings like whipped cream, nuts, or a cherry if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. You can freeze individual squares wrapped in plastic wrap.
