Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned; drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with sliced potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
  2. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
