Preparation
  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned and aromatic.
  3. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage and mixed greens. Cook briefly, allowing the vegetables to soften.
  5. Pour in the broth and season with salt, black pepper, and paprika or Cajun seasoning.
  6. Let the mixture simmer gently, allowing flavors to meld.
  7. If using shrimp, add them near the end of cooking.
  8. Serve hot, optionally accompanied by rice.
