Ingredients
  

Meat and Toppings
  • 1 pound carne asada, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup pico de gallo
Garlic Toast Ingredients
  • 4 slices of bread (for garlic toast)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shredded carne asada and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. While the carne asada is cooking, prepare the garlic toast: mix minced garlic with olive oil and spread it on the bread slices.
  5. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake in the oven until golden and crispy, about 10 minutes.
Assembly
  1. Once the bread is ready, layer the shredded carne asada on top of each slice.
  2. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the carne asada and return to the oven until the cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
  3. Top with fresh pico de gallo before serving.

Notes

Serve immediately and enjoy your Sloppy Joe! Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic according to your taste. You can also use any type of bread you prefer and add jalapeños or spicy salsa for extra kick.
