Ingredients

Fruit Filling
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries Washed and sliced
  • 42 oz strawberry pie filling
Pastry Crust
  • 28 oz refrigerated pie crust Use two crusts for the top and bottom
Icing and Toppings
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons rainbow sprinkles

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a large baking dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly and slice them into small pieces.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with the strawberry pie filling. Stir gently to evenly distribute the fruit.
  4. Roll out one layer of refrigerated pie crust and place it into the bottom of the baking dish, pressing it gently into the corners.
  5. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the bottom crust.
  6. Take the second pie crust layer and carefully place it over the fruit filling. Press the edges together firmly to seal.
Baking
  1. Place the baking dish into the oven and bake until the pastry is crispy and golden brown, about 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the pastry from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before adding the glaze.
Glazing
  1. To make the icing, mix the powdered sugar and milk together in a small bowl until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze across the top of the pastry and finish by sprinkling rainbow sprinkles over the icing.

Notes

Keep the pie crust chilled until just before baking for a flaky texture. Avoid overfilling to prevent leaking. Let the pastry cool before glazing.
