Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced Use firm varieties for the best texture.
  • 100 g bacon, diced Can substitute with vegetarian options like smoked paprika.
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Add more if needed for browning.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to taste Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced bacon and cook until crispy.
  3. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the fat in the pan.
  4. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
  5. Add the sliced potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden brown and tender, about 20-25 minutes.
  7. Stir in the crispy bacon and mix well.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

Make sure to cut the potatoes into even slices for uniform cooking. Don't rush the cooking process; let the potatoes sit in the pan to get crispy. Experiment with different seasonings like garlic or paprika for extra flavor.
