German Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake

Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder Use unsweetened for richer flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Cheesecake Layer
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Ensure it is at room temperature for a smooth layer.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped Can substitute with walnuts.
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup For drizzling before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Pour half of this mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sour cream and combine. Layer this mixture over the brownie base.
  5. Sprinkle coconut and chopped pecans on top. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the top and spread gently.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the center is set.
  2. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container. Slice only what you will eat to keep the remainder fresh longer. Enjoy with whipped cream if desired.
