  • 1 loaf French bread Use fresh bread for better texture.
  • 1 lb ground beef Leftover steak can also be used.
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese Other cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar can be used.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef with onion, bell pepper, and garlic until fully browned and flavorful. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and remove some of the inside to create space for the filling.
  4. Fill the bread with the beef mixture and top generously with shredded cheese.
  5. Wrap in foil and bake for about 20 minutes.
  6. Unwrap and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the top is slightly crispy.

Notes

Don’t overfill to keep the bread intact. Serve immediately for best cheesiness. Add mushrooms for extra flavor.
