Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb broccoli florets Fresh broccoli is preferred for better texture.
  • 2 tbsp butter Provides richness and flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic Must be fresh and minced finely.
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Essential for a rich, saucy texture.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Use freshly grated for best results.
  • 1/4 tsp salt Adjust based on taste.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper For seasoning.

Method

Preparation
  1. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt completely and begin to foam slightly.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and stir continuously for about 60 seconds until fragrant and just golden.
  3. Add the broccoli florets and toss them in the garlic butter to coat. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water, cover the skillet, and steam for 4 to 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the lid and pour in the heavy cream. Increase heat slightly to medium-high and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until reduced by about a third.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, stir in the Parmesan, salt, and pepper until the cheese melts and coats the broccoli.
  6. Remove from heat and serve directly from the skillet.

Notes

Cut broccoli florets to a uniform size for even cooking. Do not overcook during steaming. Use fresh grated Parmesan for best flavor. Adjust sauce consistency with pasta water if necessary.
