- Place a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt completely and begin to foam slightly.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and stir continuously for about 60 seconds until fragrant and just golden.
- Add the broccoli florets and toss them in the garlic butter to coat. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water, cover the skillet, and steam for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Remove the lid and pour in the heavy cream. Increase heat slightly to medium-high and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until reduced by about a third.
- Reduce the heat to low, stir in the Parmesan, salt, and pepper until the cheese melts and coats the broccoli.
- Remove from heat and serve directly from the skillet.
Notes
Cut broccoli florets to a uniform size for even cooking. Do not overcook during steaming. Use fresh grated Parmesan for best flavor. Adjust sauce consistency with pasta water if necessary.
