Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches

Ingredients
  

For the Sandwiches
  • 8 slices slices of brioche or challah bread Use fresh bread for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons butter for frying Use unsalted butter.
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature.
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced Use fresh for best flavor.
  • optional to taste additional powdered sugar for topping Dust on top before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture on 4 slices of bread.
  3. Add sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese, then cover with the remaining slices of bread to make sandwiches.
Cooking
  1. Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Once hot, place the sandwiches in the pan and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes each side.
  3. Remove from the pan, dust with additional powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm right after frying, optionally with whipped cream or chocolate sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. To reheat, warm in a frying pan over low heat.
