  • 4 pieces Onion buns or hoagie rolls Use your favorite type of bread.
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 packet Onion soup mix
  • 8 oz Provolone cheese Can substitute with Swiss or cheddar cheese.
  • 1 cup Caramelized onions Ensure they are well caramelized.
  • 2 tbsp Butter For toasting the buns.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Warm the beef broth and onion soup mix in a skillet until hot and flavorful.
  2. Add the deli roast beef and let it soak up all that savory onion flavor while it warms through.
  3. Toast the onion buns or hoagie rolls with a little butter until golden and crisp.
  4. Pile the warm roast beef onto each bun, then top with caramelized onions and provolone cheese.
  5. Bake or broil for a few minutes, just until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They are best eaten within a couple of days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through.
