Ingredients
Method
Classic French Fries
- Peel and cut the potatoes into thin sticks. Rinse them in cold water and pat them dry with a cloth.
- Heat oil to 170-180°C (340-355°F) in a deep pan.
- Fry the potatoes for about 5–7 minutes until they are golden brown.
- Drain them on paper towels and season with salt.
Loaded Cheese Fries
- Prepare the classic fries using the method above.
- Once they are cooked, place the fries on a tray.
- Add shredded cheese and optional cooked bacon on top.
- Bake in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for 5–7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garlic Parmesan Fries
- Fry the potatoes using the classic method until they are crispy (about 5–7 minutes).
- In a separate pan, sauté minced garlic in a little oil for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Toss the fries with the garlic, grated parmesan, and parsley. Serve hot.
Spicy Cajun Fries
- Fry the potatoes until golden (5–7 minutes).
- In a small bowl, mix paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and a little oil.
- Toss the fries in the spice mix until they are well coated. Serve warm.
Notes
For best texture, use starchy potatoes and avoid overcrowding the frying pan. You can experiment with different toppings like chili, herbs, or different cheese types. Try sweet potatoes for a healthier option.
