  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4-6 pieces hoagie rolls
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, bay leaves

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the roast beef and onion in a slow cooker.
  2. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then season with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings.
Cooking
  1. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until the beef is tender.
  2. Remove the beef and shred or slice it into pieces.
  3. Strain the liquid to serve as dipping juice.
Assembly
  1. To assemble the sandwiches, place the shredded beef on hoagie rolls, top with provolone cheese, and broil until the cheese is melted.
Serving
  1. Serve the sandwiches warm with a side of the broth for dipping.

Notes

For added flavor, use garlic powder or bay leaves in the broth, and consider adding pepperoncini or jalapeƱos for spice. Broil the cheese for a delicious, gooey texture.
