Cooking
  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Crack eggs into the skillet and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook until the whites are set, then flip to cook the other side if desired.
  4. Toast the bread while the eggs are cooking.
  5. Assemble the sandwich by placing the cooked eggs on one slice of bread, adding any optional toppings, and covering with the second slice.
  6. Cut in half and serve warm.

Notes
