  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • pinch freshly ground black pepper Enhances absorption of curcumin
  • 2 teaspoons honey Adjust to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small pot, add water, turmeric, lemon juice, and black pepper. Whisk these ingredients together.
  2. Heat the mixture over high heat.
  3. When the tea just starts to boil, turn the heat down to low. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Once simmering is done, turn off the heat. Add the honey and let the tea cool for a minute or two.
  5. Pour the tea into a mug through a strainer to remove the black pepper. Enjoy it warm!
Storage Tips
  1. Let the tea cool before putting it in the fridge in a sealed jar. It lasts for 4 to 5 days.
  2. Reheat it before drinking, either on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Notes

Make sure to whisk the ingredients well to combine them properly. Use freshly ground black pepper for enhanced curcumin absorption. Customize by adding ginger or cinnamon for extra flavor, or use maple syrup for a vegan option.
