Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the melted butter evenly into the bottom of the dish.
- Layer the shredded chicken over the butter. Then, scatter the frozen vegetables evenly on top. Sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper for added flavor.
Biscuit Layer
- In a large bowl, whisk together the milk and Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix (plus the included seasoning packet) until smooth. Pour this mixture gently over the chicken and vegetables — do not stir.
Sauce Preparation
- In the same bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup and chicken broth until smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the biscuit layer — again, do not stir.
Baking
- Place the dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 55–65 minutes, or until the top is deeply golden and the edges are bubbling.
Serving
- Once done, remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving. This helps the layers set and enhances the flavor.
Notes
Use rotisserie chicken for the best flavor and texture with minimal prep. Don’t stir the layers — that’s what creates the cobbler-style magic! Add a pinch of thyme or rosemary for extra savory aroma. Want it creamier? Swap the milk for half-and-half. Reheats beautifully — perfect for meal prep or next-day leftovers.
