  • 1 box (12 oz) Rice Chex cereal Provides the crunchy base.
  • 1 cup Jif creamy peanut butter Can substitute with crunchy peanut butter for texture.
  • 1 bag (11.5 oz) Hershey's milk chocolate chips Melt for coating.
  • 1/4 cup butter Used for melting with chocolate.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 bag (10 oz) pastel M&M's Adds festive color and flavor.
  • 1 bag (9 oz) Cadbury Mini Eggs If unavailable, substitute with other chocolate candies.

Preparation
  1. Pour the Rice Chex cereal into a very large mixing bowl.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter together in 30-second increments until completely smooth.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and fold gently until all the cereal is coated.
  4. Transfer the coated cereal into a large paper bag or giant Ziploc bag. Add the powdered sugar, seal, and shake vigorously until well coated.
  5. Pour the muddy buddies onto a baking sheet to cool.
  6. Toss with the pastel M&M's and Cadbury Mini Eggs.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Avoid refrigerating as it can lose crunchiness. You can also use festive containers for presentation.
