  • 1 cup Paper cups Can use plastic or metal cups as alternatives.
  • 1 roll Yarn or thick thread Use different colors for a vibrant look.
  • 5 pieces Colorful foam balls / beads For decorating the hanging strings.
  • 1 length String or cord For hanging the lanterns.
  • 1 tube Hot glue or craft glue To glue decorations onto the cups.
  • 1 sheet Colored foam sheets For cutting shapes to decorate the cups.
  • 1 optional Needle If threading beads onto string.
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting string and foam sheets.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Take a paper cup and apply glue around it. Wrap yarn tightly around the entire cup until fully covered. Let it dry.
  2. Cut shapes from foam (flowers, leaves, rainbow, etc.). Glue them onto the cup for a cute design.
  3. Cut several pieces of string. Thread colorful beads or foam balls onto each string. Tie knots to keep beads in place.
  4. Glue or tie the strings to the bottom edge inside the cup.
  5. Attach a longer string to the top of the cup for hanging.

Notes

To store your decorations, keep them in a dry and cool place. Avoid stacking them to prevent damage. Use a box or decorative basket for storage. You can create themed versions for occasions by using themed colors and shapes.
