Materials Needed
  • 2 sheets Clear plastic sheets or transparency film Use for creating the butterflies.
  • 1 set Permanent markers in various colors Choose vibrant colors for coloring.
  • 1 piece Scissors For cutting out butterfly shapes.
  • 1 piece String or fishing line To hang the sun catcher.
  • 1 piece Hole punch To create a hole for hanging.
  • 1 template A butterfly template Can be printed or drawn.
  • 1 window A sunny window To display the sun catcher.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Choose a butterfly template. Cut it out if it's printed.
  2. Place the template under a clear plastic sheet.
  3. Trace the shape of the butterfly with a permanent marker.
  4. Fill in the butterfly shape with vibrant colors.
  5. Once the ink is dry, carefully cut out the butterfly from the plastic sheet.
  6. Use the hole punch to create a hole at the top of your butterfly.
  7. Thread a piece of string or fishing line through the hole and tie a knot.
  8. Hang your butterfly sun catcher in a sunny window and enjoy the sparkles in the light.

Notes

To keep your sun catcher in good condition, store it flat in a dry, cool place.
