  • 1 sheet Clear plastic sheets or a clear CD case This will be the base of your sun catcher.
  • 1 template Butterfly template (found online) You can print or draw this to use as a stencil.
  • As needed Permanent markers or paint Choose vibrant colors to create a beautiful design.
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting out the butterfly shape.
  • 1 piece String or fishing line For hanging the sun catcher.
  • As needed Glue Optional, for adding decorations.
  • As desired Glitter or sequins Optional, for extra sparkle.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by printing or drawing a butterfly template on paper. Cut it out to use as a stencil.
  2. Place the butterfly template under a clear plastic sheet or a clear CD case.
  3. Use permanent markers or paint to trace the butterfly shape. You can use different colors for a vibrant look.
  4. Once you are happy with the design, let it dry completely.
Assembly
  1. Carefully cut out the butterfly shape from the plastic.
  2. If you want to add some glitter or sequins, apply a bit of glue and sprinkle them on the wet glue.
  3. Cut a piece of string or fishing line and tie it at the top of the butterfly for hanging.
  4. Find a sunny spot to hang your sun catcher.

Notes

Choose bright colors for the best light reflection. You can experiment with different shapes and sizes for a unique display. Fine glitter works best for an even sparkle, and try to find the best place for optimal lighting.
