Ingredients
  

For the sandwich
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter Use unsalted butter for better flavor control.
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese (or provolone) Mozzarella can be substituted with provolone.
  • Dill pickles (sliced) Use freshly sliced pickles for the best crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice butter-side down in the skillet.
  4. Layer with sharp cheddar cheese, dill pickle slices, and mozzarella cheese.
  5. Top with another slice of bread, butter-side up.
Cooking
  1. Cook until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  2. Remove from the skillet, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, try dipping it in your favorite sauce, like ranch or spicy mayo. Experiment with different types of bread for added texture.
