  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) For added flavor and creaminess

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion until the meat is fully cooked and the onion is soft.
  3. Stir in the chopped cabbage, tomato sauce, cooked rice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  6. (Optional) Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30-40 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to brown the cheese.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm with a side salad or crusty bread. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days or frozen for up to three months. Thaw in the fridge before reheating. Optional to add herbs like oregano or basil for extra flavor.
