  • 1 carton chicken broth Used as the base for the soup.
  • 1 can cream of chicken Adds creaminess and flavor.
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning Gives the soup a savory ranch flavor.
  • 8 ounces cream cheese For added creaminess.
  • 1 bag cubed hashbrowns Main component; can use fresh diced potatoes.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a crockpot, combine the chicken broth, cream of chicken, ranch seasoning, and cubed hashbrowns.
Cooking
  1. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  2. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the cream cheese until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir well and let it heat through before serving.

Notes

For extra creaminess, you can use half-and-half or whole milk instead of or in addition to the cream cheese. Customize by adding cooked bacon or ham for flavor; use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for 2-3 months.
