Ingredients

Shrimp Filling
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
Wonton Assembly
  • 1 pack wonton wrappers
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Finely chop shrimp and mix with mozzarella, cream cheese, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Place 1 tablespoon of shrimp filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Brush edges with beaten egg and fold into triangles.
  2. Press edges firmly to seal, making sure no filling escapes while frying.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil over medium heat and fry shrimp bites for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Ensure the shrimp filling is fully cooked inside.
Finishing Touch
  1. Remove shrimp bites and place them on paper towels. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
Serving
  1. Serve shrimp bites warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Make sure to chop the shrimp finely for a smoother filling. Do not overfill the wonton wrappers to prevent bursting while frying. Test the oil temperature by dropping a small piece of wonton; it should bubble and fry immediately. Use a thermometer to ensure the oil is between 350°F to 375°F for optimal frying.
