Preparation
- In a mixer bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Warm the milk, water, and butter until warm but not hot. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients.
- Add the egg and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Baking
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Roll up the dough and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased pan and let them rise again.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes.
- For icing, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth, and drizzle over the rolls.
Notes
Best served warm. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days at room temperature, or freeze for longer storage. Thaw at room temperature and warm in the oven before serving. Optional: add nuts or chocolate chips for variations.
