  • 2 cups vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, carrots, bean sprouts, cabbage) Use a mix of your favorite vegetables.
  • 1 cup protein (e.g., chicken, shrimp, tofu) Choose your preferred protein.
Sauces and Seasonings
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons oil for cooking Use your preferred cooking oil.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the protein and cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add the vegetables and stir-fry for another 3-5 minutes until tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and broth.
  6. Pour the sauce over the stir-fried ingredients and stir well to combine.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Chopsuey can be garnished with fresh herbs or a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added flavor. Feel free to customize the vegetables and spice levels to your preference.
