Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the softened butter and egg, and mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Cookies are best enjoyed warm and fresh out of the oven. Store in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature or refrigerate for about a week. They can be frozen for up to three months.
