Preparation
- Preheat your oven according to cake mix instructions and grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix and fudge brownie mix.
- Add eggs, water, vegetable oil, and mayonnaise. Mix until well combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake according to the cake mix instructions or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Making Ganache
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream until just simmering.
- Pour the hot cream over chocolate chips in a bowl and let sit for a few minutes. Stir until smooth.
Finishing Touch
- Once the cake has cooled, pour the ganache over the top and spread it evenly.
- Allow the ganache to set before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container. Keep at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Let it come to room temperature before serving again. Adding nuts or coffee granules can enhance flavor.
