  • 2 pieces Chicken breasts Boneless, skinless
  • 1 cup Breading (flour, breadcrumbs, or panko) Choose your preferred style of breading
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning
  • 2 pieces Soft sandwich buns Choose your favorite variety
  • to taste Pickles
  • to taste Lettuce (optional)
  • to taste Tomato slices (optional)
  • to taste Mayonnaise (optional)
  • as needed Cooking spray or oil for air frying For coating

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer according to manufacturer instructions.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge the chicken in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the coated chicken in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with cooking spray or oil.
  2. Air fry the chicken at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Toast the sandwich buns in the air fryer for a couple of minutes if desired.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the sandwiches by placing the crispy chicken on the bun, adding extra pickles, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise if using.
  2. Serve immediately and enjoy your comfort food heaven!

Notes

Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For healthier options, use whole grain buns and add more veggies.
