  • 2 lb chicken breasts Cut into even pieces
  • 1/2 lb sliced deli ham Can substitute with turkey if desired
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese Can substitute with cheddar or mozzarella
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup Can use a homemade version for a healthier option
  • 1/4 cup whole milk Use more or less depending on desired consistency

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a casserole dish, layer the raw chicken breasts at the bottom.
  3. Top the chicken with sliced deli ham and then layer the Swiss cheese on top.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup with the whole milk until smooth. Pour it over the cheese layer.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve hot, pairs well with a green salad or steamed vegetables. For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like parsley or chives before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for up to three months.
