Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for less grease.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Any brand will work.
  • 1/4 cup water To help combine the seasoning with the beef.
  • 8 ounces cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.
  • 1 package crescent roll dough Can substitute with pizza dough or puff pastry.
Optional Toppings
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes Fresh or canned.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream For a creamy topping.
  • 1/4 cup jalapeños For added heat.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, cooking until heated through.
  4. Roll out the crescent dough and cut it into strips.
  5. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture and some cheese on each strip. Fold the dough over to form sticks.
  6. Arrange the sticks on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with your choice of optional toppings like diced tomatoes, sour cream, and jalapeños on the side.

Notes

Make sure to drain the grease from the cooked beef to keep the sticks from getting soggy. You can freeze before baking; wrap well in plastic wrap.
