Preparation
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent.
- Drain any excess grease.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
Assembly and Cooking
- Preheat the oven to broil.
- Place the garlic toast on a baking sheet, then pile the sloppy joe mixture on top of each slice.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the sloppy joes.
- Broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then serve hot.
Notes
Serve with pickles, fries, or a simple side salad. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven or toaster oven until warm.
