  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Make sure the shrimp are fully cooked before mixing.

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Hand Pies
  • 1 package pre-made pie crusts or puff pastry Use store-bought pie crust for an easy and quick preparation.
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash) Brush the tops of the hand pies with seasonings for added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the shrimp, shredded cheese, cream cheese, green onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
  3. Roll out the pie crust or puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into circles.
  4. Place a spoonful of the shrimp mixture onto one half of each circle.
  5. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing down with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops of the hand pies with the beaten egg.
  7. Place the hand pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the hand pies are golden brown.
Serving
  1. Let them cool slightly before serving. Serve warm as an appetizer or a light meal.
  2. They pair well with dipping sauces like salsa, garlic butter, or a tangy aioli.
  3. You can also offer a fresh salad on the side for a complete meal.

Notes

Allow the hand pies to cool completely before storing them. Place them in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, you can freeze them wrapped tightly in plastic wrap in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months.
