  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Ensure shrimp is cooked properly.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Feel free to use different cheese for variety.
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese Softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced Adds flavor to the shrimp.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For color and mild spice.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.
For the crust
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts Using pre-made crust saves time.
  • 1 whole egg (for egg wash) Beaten, for a golden finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, sauté shrimp with garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  3. In a bowl, combine cooked shrimp, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese, mixing well until smooth.
  4. Roll out the pie crusts and cut them into circles.
  5. Place a spoonful of the shrimp mixture onto the center of each circle.
  6. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges with a fork.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the pies are golden brown.
  2. Serve warm for best flavor.

Notes

Store any leftover hand pies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through. Extras can be frozen for later.
