  • 500 g ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup pizza or marinara sauce Can use your favorite brand.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can use a cheese blend.
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking pan.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until it becomes soft. Then, add the minced garlic and sauté for a brief moment.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Season it with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned, then drain any excess fat.
Assembly
  1. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  2. Pour the pizza sauce over the beef, spreading it out evenly.
  3. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top of the sauce.
  4. Add sliced tomatoes and black olives on top. Finally, sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
Baking
  1. Bake the dish until the cheese melts, bubbles, and turns lightly golden around the edges.
  2. Let it rest briefly before cutting and serving.

Notes

Serve warm, right out of the oven with sides like garlic bread or a salad. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
