Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking pan.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until it becomes soft. Then, add the minced garlic and sauté for a brief moment.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Season it with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned, then drain any excess fat.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Pour the pizza sauce over the beef, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top of the sauce.
- Add sliced tomatoes and black olives on top. Finally, sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Bake the dish until the cheese melts, bubbles, and turns lightly golden around the edges.
- Let it rest briefly before cutting and serving.
Notes
Serve warm, great on its own or with a side salad, garlic bread, or crispy veggies. Extra pizza sauce can be offered for dipping. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
