  • 2 cups pasta Use your favorite type of pasta.
  • 1 cup cheese Cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice.
  • 1 cup cream You can substitute with milk.
  • 1 tablespoon butter For making the roux.
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour To thicken the cheese sauce.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Breadcrumbs Optional, for added crunch.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir for a minute to make a roux.
  4. Slowly add the cream, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and mix in the cheese until it’s melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Combine the pasta and cheese sauce in a baking dish. If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place it in the oven or microwave until warmed throughout. You can prepare this dish in advance and refrigerate before baking.
