Ingredients
  

For the Sandwich
  • 2 slices slices of bread Any type of bread, thicker slices like sourdough or focaccia recommended
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Use your favorite cheese for different flavors
  • 1/2 cup cooked ground beef Substitute with pulled pork or chicken if desired
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce (optional) Can be swapped for spicy mustard or zesty sauce
  • Butter Use for grilling; essential for achieving crispy texture

Method
 

Grilling the Sandwich
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice, butter side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer the cooked ground beef, barbecue sauce (if using), and shredded cheese on top.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
  6. Grill until golden brown on one side, then flip and grill the other side until the cheese is melted.
  7. Cut in half and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Reheat in a skillet until warmed through.
