  • 1 lb ground beef Cooked until browned.
  • 4 oz cream cheese Add to the beef mixture for creaminess.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning For seasoning the beef.
  • 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese Mixed with the beef mixture.
  • 1 box Red Lobster biscuit mix Base for the casserole.
  • 1 packet butter & herb seasoning (from biscuit mix) For flavoring the biscuits.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter To mix with herb seasoning before pouring over biscuits.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Sprinkled on top before the final baking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and lightly grease a casserole dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is browned.
  3. Stir in cream cheese, taco seasoning, and pepper jack cheese until everything is melted and well combined.
  4. Spread the biscuit mixture in the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 15 minutes until the biscuits are lightly golden.
  2. Mix the melted butter with the herb seasoning packet and pour it over the biscuit layer.
  3. Spread the beef mixture evenly on top of the biscuits.
  4. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over everything.
  5. Bake for about 3 more minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using a mix of cheese, such as Monterey Jack or crumbled feta. You can add diced green chilies or hot sauce to the beef mixture for some heat. Make it a complete meal by adding veggies like corn or bell peppers to the beef mixture. This dish can be made vegetarian by substituting ground beef with black beans, corn, and diced tomatoes.
