Combining Ingredients
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve some pasta water and drain.
- Quickly combine the hot pasta with the bacon and remove from heat.
- Stir in the egg mixture, adding reserved pasta water to create a creamy sauce.
Serving
- Serve carbonara hot, topped with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within two days. Reheat by adding a bit of water or olive oil to prevent drying out.
