  • as needed Liquid food coloring (various colors) Add multiple colors for a vibrant effect.
  • 1 set Plastic butterfly molds Choose molds in various sizes for a dynamic display.
  • 1 sheet Plastic wrap To lay down on the surface for easy removal.
  • 1 flat surface A flat surface for drying Ensure the surface is stable and clean.
  • optional Scissors Only needed for cutting plastic wrap if necessary.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by laying down the plastic wrap on a flat surface. This will make it easy to remove your sun catchers once they are dry.
  2. In a bowl, pour clear glue and add a few drops of liquid food coloring, mixing well until you reach your desired color.
Molding
  1. Carefully pour the colored glue into the butterfly molds, filling each mold evenly.
  2. Allow the glue to dry completely, which usually takes about 24 hours.
Finishing Touches
  1. Once dry, gently peel the sun catchers off the molds and remove any excess plastic wrap.
  2. Your Butterfly Crystal Sun Catcher is ready to hang! Use string or a suction cup hook to display it in a sunny window.

Notes

Store the sun catchers in a box or container with tissue paper to prevent scratches. Experiment with colors and shapes for variety. You can add glitter for extra sparkle and try using non-stick spray with molds for easier removal.
