Burger King Copycat Hershey Pie

Ingredients
  

For the pie
  • 1 prepared 9-inch chocolate pie crust
  • 6 ounces block style cream cheese, room temperature Make sure it's at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted Sifting helps reduce clumps and creates a smoother filling.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 25 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided Keep some for topping before serving.
  • 4.65 ounces Hershey’s milk chocolate bars, broken into pieces Can substitute with dark chocolate for a richer flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is creamy.
  2. Fold in 8 ounces of the thawed whipped topping gently and spread the cream cheese mixture into the base of the prepared chocolate pie crust.
  3. Melt the Hershey’s chocolate in the microwave in short intervals, stirring in between, then allow it to cool slightly.
  4. Whisk in 1 cup of whipped topping into the melted chocolate until smooth.
  5. Gently fold in the remaining thawed whipped topping into the melted chocolate mixture.
  6. Spread the chocolate mixture over the cream cheese layer in the pie crust.
  7. Place the pie in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours to set.
Serving
  1. Slice the pie into wedges and serve chilled, ideally on a warm day with a cup of coffee or milk.
  2. Top with additional whipped topping and extra pieces of Hershey’s chocolate for decoration.

Notes

Store any leftover pie in the refrigerator. Cover it with plastic wrap or foil. It stays fresh for 3-4 days. Do not freeze.
