Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup warm milk Make sure it's warm, not hot
  • 1 large egg
Topping
  • Sesame seeds For topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk, egg, and butter. Knead the mixture for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let the dough rise for 1-2 hours, until it has doubled in size.
Shaping
  1. Divide the dough into equal portions, shape each portion into a ball, and place them on a baking tray.
  2. Allow the dough balls to proof again for 30-40 minutes.
Baking
  1. Brush the tops with milk or an egg wash, then sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  2. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  3. Cool the buns on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Make sure to knead the dough well for a soft and fluffy texture. You can customize by adding herbs or spices.
