Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with other types of cheese
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Use fresh or store-bought
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, mayonnaise, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
Assembly
  1. In a large baking dish, layer the cooked broccoli and pour the soup mixture over it. Mix gently to coat the broccoli.
  2. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mixture.
Topping and Baking
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and melted butter. Stir until the breadcrumbs are fully coated.
  2. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the casserole.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Serve hot as a side dish or main dish. Garnish with additional cheese or fresh herbs for extra flavor. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for up to two months.
